THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Poignant or What?

Leave and Let Live

South of the Oomagalumi, west of the Dumas Falls
Is a village of  tranquil sobriety
Home to the Kumkwatcalls.
A peaceful race of people, who hunt for frogs by day
And spend their nights in dreamland
Far, far away.
The women are lithe and slender, tall for a forest race
While the men are short but stocky
With scars upon the face.
They trade with the Droolinoomah, another forest tribe
Swapping frogs for groggle,
Of which they both imbibe.
A potion made with herbs, gathered from the forest floor
Giving visions of the future,
The basis for their law.
Life for them seems simple, beneath forest leaves of green
Let’s hope that it remains so,
Pray they’re never seen!
For all too often we come, with intention good but flawed
Looking for prosperity,
Ethnicity ignored!
South of the Oomagalumi, west of the Dumas Falls
Live in peace my brothers,
Pray progress never calls.
